VOLUNTARY WORK IN CHECHEN SCHOOLS IS HELPING THE SOCIETY OVERCOME THE TRAUMA OF OVER 10 YEARS OF WAR

On March 23 and 24, 2007, Ms Anica Mikus Kos and Ms Katarina Cibej Fras conducted the second module of seminars for teachers, mentors of voluntary work from Chechnya. The main topic of this module was the reflection on activities run in the frame of the program.

In the frame of their visit to the North Caucasus Anica Mikuš Kos and Katarina Čibej Fras have conduced the forth and currently the last seminar for a group of 50 teachers, who are in the frame of 4 seminar modules receiving , knowledge, skills and empowerment to help traumatized children and other children with psychosocial disorders in the frame of their schools. Representatives of the donor organization the War Trauma Foundation Ms Ria Stiefelhagen and Ms Relinede Reifers took part in the module. The project is run in cooperation with the Teachers’ Training Institute in Vladikavkaz.
