MEETINGS IN ALPINE SETTINGS

The north-western part of Slovenia, most of which falls within the Triglav National Park, is characterised by snow-capped peaks, deep valleys, crystal-clear lakes and rapid rivers. The main meeting and incentive venues in alpine Slovenia include Bled, famous for its fairytale lake with an idyllic island, and Kranjska Gora, a popular winter resort and a retreat from the bustle of everyday life.

Bled is an enchanting locality embraced by a necklace of majestic peaks. Romantic walks or a carriage ride around the breathtaking lake, a traditional pletna-boat ride to the church on Bled Island, a visit to the imposing castle, which towers on a sheer cliff above the lake, the nearby ski slopes, alpine paths, golf courses, wellness centres, fishing or the casino - these are just a few of the attractions of Bled. This easily accessible resort, which is only 30 km from Ljubljana International Airport, has long been a popular destination for business and leisure travel alike, due to its excellent facilities and beautiful natural surroundings.

A host of attractive incentive and outdoor programmes are on offer in Bled and its surroundings. The Bled Golf & Country Club will be pleased to organise a golf tournament on its 18- and 9-hole golf courses, which are considered to be among the most beautiful in Europe. Teambuilding and sports programmes include treasure hunts, wacky Olympic Games, high rope challenge courses, white water adventures, hot air balloon flights, snowshoe hikes and sledging trophies; while the Bled castle and the island church provide an ideal setting for cultural events.

The Sava Hoteli Bled group offers a variety of fine conference venues. The luxurious, yet traditional Grand Hotel Toplice offers meeting space for a maximum of 270. The newly renovated Golf Hotel boasts a modern Wellness Centre in addition to being the largest hotel convention centre in the area with a plenary hall for up to 350. The historic Vila Bled is a charming former residence of President Tito. The largest plenary seating (500 delegates) is provided in the Festival Hall, only a short walk from the hotels.

Kranjska Gora is best known for winter sports activities, but it is also the heart of the valley in summer and is a real jewel for lovers of nature. It offers numerous sporting pleasures to more active visitors - from snow fun to unforgettable tours of the Julian Alps in summer. Despite having abundant modern tourist facilities, the heart of Kranjska Gora also retains several old farmhouses, which provide the town with a feeling of genuine homeliness. Those in search of peace and romance will also find a corner here.

The main meeting venue is the Kompas hoteli group, which comprises two hotels and provides space for a maximum of 360 delegates in its main hall. A modern Wellness Centre, catering for the wellbeing of the guests, rounds off the hotels offer.
