Sunday the 24 August is the opening of the APIMONDIA congress in Ljubljana, the lovely capital of Slovenia. For almost a week everybody involved in beekeeping will buzz around learning, getting new information and make a lot of new friends. There are lectures and poster sessions, the APIEXPO with a very large number of exhibitors, the contests and many social events and excursions. But the most important thing at the congress is the possibility to meet and discuss. Everybody involved in the beekeeping world is here: Beekeepers, scientists, honeytraders, producers of beekeeping equipment, honey analysts and legislators. You will be able to exchange knowledge, ideas, information and thus get wiser. You will be able to make friends from all over the world. That is what APIMONDIA and the Congress is meant for. The programme is most impressive with 220 planned lectures and 224 posters.

The APIEXPO is one of the largest ever. With more than 100 stands there will be enough to see.
You will be able to enjoy great entertainment and folklore at the opening ceremony, The Slovenian evening, the Irish evening and the closing ceremony.
The Slovenian Organising Committee, the many volunteers of the Slovenian Beekeepers Association, the staff of Cankarev Dom, The APIMONDIA Executive Commitee members and staff will all do their best to guarantee that what we have been working for during the last years shall be a success that brings you good memories.
There are different options. You can go to the full congress with access to all the lectures, entertainments, folklore and a technical visit, or you can decide just to go to the APIEXPO for a 1 day visit.
