Dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of the Organising Committee I take great pleasure in inviting you to the 53rd International Congress of the European Society for Cardiovascular Surgery, to take place from 2 – 5 June 2004 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The Congress will offer a great opportunity for all specialists in this field to keep abreast of the latest developments in this expertise as well as present the findings that they have encountered by practising the cardiovascular surgery.

I sincerely hope you will take this opportunity to exchange views and meet your esteemed colleagues again. Ljubljana, our host city, is the verdant capital of Slovenia, which will indubitably leave you enchanted by its mystical, baroque air, the lazy Ljubljanica River and abundance of cultural institutions, artistic events, museums, modern shopping and business centres.
