VISA requriments

In most cases, a valid passport is sufficient to enter Slovenia. The participants are advised to check the requirements at the nearest Slovenian Embassy or Consulate. A list of diplomatic authorities with contact information can be found at:

Letter of invitation

The Organising Committee will send a letter of invitation upon request. The invitation is intended to facilitate participants travel and visa arrangements, and does not imply the provision of any financial or other support.

Currency

The Slovene currency is SIT (Slovene Tolar). 1 EURO is approximately equivalent to 240 SIT.

Foreign currency may be exchanged at banks, exchange offices, travel agencies, hotels, airports and railway stations.

All major credit cards (American Express, Diners, Master Card-Eurocard and Visa) are widely accepted in hotels, larger stores and restaurants.

Restaurants

There are several restaurants offering a wide assortiment of food (self-service, a la carte, pizzerias, snack bars) within walking distance from the pool.

Shopping

Throughout the week normal shopping hours are from 9.00 to 19.00. On Saturdays shops are mostly open until 13.00 h. On Sundays the shops are closed but you can visit the flea market on Maribor - Tezno.

In walking distance of the pool there is a big shopping mall "Europark" open from 9.00 to 21.00 except on Sundays.

Electricity

Voltage: 220 V, 50 Hz.

Time

Central European (one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time - GMT).

Climate

Maribor lies at abour 250 m height above the sea level and has a central European climate.

Public Transport

Maribor has a good bus transportation system payable with travel tokens. Price 240 SIT (1 EUR).
